There’s no water. No electricity. No reliable transportation.
The title comes from the answer of one of the island’s inhabitants about the virtues of independence. ‘Independence? What kind of independence do you see here?’.
‘Independence?’ (‘Independência?’ in its original title, in Portuguese) was part of the Independence Days website that Lusa produced do celebrate Portugal’s former colonies 40 years as independent states, in 2015.
